The Agung Rai Museum of Art (ARMA) is a unique art gallery/museum to Bali, showcasing a collection of masterpieces by artists not represented anywhere else in the country. The collections are broken up into four themes/periods: Kamasan (local artwork), Pre War, Europeans Living In Bali (works by artists such as Walter Spies and Rudolf Bonnet) and Modern Traditional.

There is a tranquil atmosphere at the museum, which is set within traditional Balinese buildings with gardens and water features throughout. It's very easy for foreign visitors to explore and learn about the artwork, thanks to the English descriptions and English-speaking staff.

The gallery is only one of the features of ARMA. You can also take part in a variety of cultural workshops including yoga classes, egg painting, offering making and Balinese cooking classes. The museum regularly holds entertaining performances worth seeing such as choreographed dances, music and theatrical shows.

If you'd like to purchase a memento of your visit, you can do so at the ARMA bookstore or boutique shop. The latter sells quality hand-made garments for both men and women. Entry to ARMA is about 50,000Rp.
