Granville Island is an inviting entertainment and leisure district which is located just across the False River from Downtown Vancouver.  In the 1970’s the island was redeveloped and now includes vibrant markets, a picturesque marina as well as boutique hotels, cafes and restaurants.  Street performers and music concerts are a fixture here creating an exciting and lively atmosphere.

Popular with both tourists and locals, Granville Island offers a unique area for fun and relaxation.  A fixture of the island is the daily farmers market where everything from fresh fruits, veggies and flowers can be found along with many other tasty foods.  There are many craft studious and art galleries too that make this a fun place to shop for the best in hand made local merchandise.

Take a stroll along the water and enjoy the many street performers as they amaze the crowds with their talented shows.  The music and theatre scenes are also a lively fixture here and visitors are able to enjoy many different kinds of entertainment.  In the warmer months the water park is a popular attraction with kids and families while the fun filled Adventure Zone is a year-round attraction.

Granville Island can be reached by many methods including car, bus, ferry, and bike or on foot.  Public transport from downtown by bus is available on the #50 False Creek route along Granville Street.  The Aquabus and False Creek Ferry serves the island from various stops around the city.  Public transport is recommended as parking is limited on Granville Island.
