A Treasure Trove
Ever since being colonised by the Spanish, Cebu has grown and prospered through trade with China. Today, it is one of the most important provinces in the Philippines. Though well-developed, Cebu’s main attraction is her history. Through tourist attractions such as Fort San Pedro, Magellan’s Cross, Basilica del Santo Niño and the Lapu-Lapu Statue, travellers can relive the transition of Cebu since its colonial days. Apart from history, there are many beautiful sights in Cebu.
If you enjoy nature, then you must visit Kawasan Falls which is formed of three waterfalls in a scenic forest. Or you can take a hike to the top of various mountains to enjoy amazing views of the province. Cebu also boasts fantastic beaches and glorious resorts that you must visit for relaxation.
There are numerous festivals in Cebu throughout the year, the most famous being the Sinulog Festival. The festival that falls on the third Sunday of every January celebrates Jesus as an infant, and is best known for its colourful costumes and street dancing.
