As a hub of central European transport, Budapest Airport is serviced by most major European airlines. Major airlines servicing Hungarian airports include:
Hungary’s resplendent national capital Budapest is an eye-catching reminder of the days when this European nation was one of the continent’s most powerful. Dotted with palaces, churches, galleries and museums, the Hungarian capital was once the centre of an empire which stretched across much of central Europe.
Budapest may be the first port of call for most visitors, but there’s more to Hungary than just its vibrant capital. Lake Balaton is the largest freshwater lake in Central Europe and a popular tourist attraction, while cities like Debrecen, Keszthely and Pecs are also popular with foreign visitors.
The so-called Danube Bend, where this mighty river turns and heads downstream towards Budapest, is regarded as one of Hungary’s most scenic locations. Located close to the town of Visegrad, it’s a great place to soak up some of the rich history and culture of this exotic land – particular from Visegrad's famous castle.
