Aside from its laidback scene and gorgeous white sand beaches, Bohol is home to the Chocolate Hills and tarsiers that can't be found anywhere else in the Philippines. It is an hour and a half south of Manila with flights to Tagbilaran, the city's capital. Most visitors stay near or along Alona Beach in Panglao Island. Bohol is known for its delightfully quaint boutique hotels and bed & breakfasts as well as high-end resorts for the luxe traveller.
Each city in Bohol has a different character: Loboc is a rivertown with historic churches, idyllic falls, and home to the famous River Cruise. Elegant heritage houses line the main road of Baclayon, while Dauis offers a lovely seaside setting, pilgrimage site, and heritage exhibits, tours, cafes and craft shops.
