Carry-on Baggage
A guest’s hand baggage allowance is determined by the class of travel. The size and weight of the bags will also be restricted. The below chart offers a detailed look at Qatar’s baggage claim allowance.
Checked Baggage
The checked baggage allowance for Qatar flights can be reviewed below as there are many factors which determine the number of bags each passenger is permitted.
Sporting Equipment
The baggage limits for sporting equipment are as follows:
Musical Equipment
Small instruments may be carried in the cabin if within weight and size limitations for carry-on baggage. If accompanied by a fare paying passenger, an extra seat may also be purchase for fragile instruments, provided the item is less than 75kg and under 120cm in length. All other instruments and equipment must travel as checked baggage and be properly packaged to prevent damage.
Restricted or Dangerous Goods
Certain items are restricted from hand luggage. Containers holding liquids and gels must be under 100mL and be packed in a clear, re-sealable bag for inspection at the security check point.
The following items are restricted from flying in checked baggage as they may pose a risk to the safe operation of the flight.
Check-in
Passengers are always welcome to check-in at the Qatar ticket counter at the airport. Qatar recommends that passengers arrive three hours prior to scheduled departure time. All guests must present their travel documentation, passport and any required visas. The check-in process for flights closes 1 hour before departure. Late check-ins will not be accepted and passengers will be denied boarding if arriving too late.
Mobile and Web Check
The most convenient way to check-in for a flight is online, using the Qatar mobile app or website. Online check-in opens 24 hours before departure to / from destinations in North America and 36 hours before departure for all other locations. Check-in closes 90 minutes before the scheduled departure time. Bag drop-offs at the terminal must be done before the 60 minute check-in closing time at the airport. Failure to submit bags before the 60 minute closing time may result in penalty and possible denied boarding.
