Combine a beach trip with a bit of religious immersion while at Nusa Dua's Gegar Beach. Slightly to the south of the sand and waves is a local cafe and a footpath that leads up to an old temple by the name of Pura Gegar.
Although it's not one of the most impressive temples in Bali, there's a ruggedness about Pura Gegar - from the gnarled trees and weathered appearance - that gives it memorable character. It's also accompanied by a picturesque view from the cliff-face looking out over the ocean and beyond.
After walking back down, you'll be happy to know the beach isn't far away for a quick dip to cool off.
