For more than five decades, a travel ban was legislated between Cuba and the US. But with the full restoration between the two neighbouring countries, US airlines can now make direct flights to Cuba. Starting 3 December 2016, United Airlines will offer Saturday service from Houston (IAH) to Havana, Cuba, flight duration approximately 2.5 hours. Daily non-stop service from New York/ Newark (EWR) begins 29 November 2016, flight duration approximately 3.5 hours. With connecting flights via the US, you don't have to stop at multiple cities anymore.
Known as the ragged-around-the-edges capital of modern-day Cuba, Havana is a dizzying mix of salsa, street festivals and Communist architecture. Spend hours wandering around, dodging vintage cars and admiring the glorious mix of Baroque and Neoclassical architecture in Havana.
